Tesla inaugurated its fifth Experience Centre in India at HITEC City, Hyderabad, on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, showcasing the newly launched 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and the Model Y L to prospective buyers in Telangana. The opening marks a steady expansion of the American electric vehicle maker's retail footprint across the country, less than a year after its initial India entry.

What the Hyderabad Centre Offers

Visitors to the HITEC City showroom can explore both vehicles through guided walkarounds and hands-on product experiences led by Tesla Advisors. According to the company, the centre is designed to help customers understand Tesla's design philosophy, electric vehicle technology, safety features, and performance capabilities in an interactive setting.

Separately, delivery and after-sales services for Telangana owners have commenced at the Bollaram Industrial Area, providing localised support infrastructure for the growing owner base in the region.

Model Specifications and Pricing

The 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive is priced at ₹50,89,000 in India, with a down payment of ₹6 lakh and monthly EMIs starting from ₹39,990. Deliveries are set to begin in July 2026. The model offers 0–100 km/h acceleration in 5.9 seconds, a WLTP range of up to 500 km, seating for five, power-folding seats, and 2,138 litres of total storage.

The Model Y L, an all-wheel-drive variant positioned as a family SUV, delivers a WLTP range of up to 681 km, 0–100 km/h in 5 seconds, and cargo capacity of up to 2,539 litres. Pricing for the Model Y L has not been separately disclosed in the company statement.

Limited-Period Offer and Charging Support

Customers who place orders before 30 June 2026 will receive a complimentary Wall Connector as part of a limited-time incentive. Tesla also confirmed that home charging support is available across all states in India, a move aimed at easing range-anxiety concerns among first-time EV buyers.

Safety Credentials

Both models carry top safety ratings from multiple international bodies, including the NHTSA and IIHS (United States), Euro NCAP (Europe), ANCAP (Australia and New Zealand), and C-IASI (China). The multi-market safety validation is likely to serve as a key selling point in India's nascent premium EV segment, where safety awareness among buyers is rising.
