Greater Noida, March 8 (NationPress) India has experienced a remarkable enhancement in its health facilities over the past decade, stated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday.

During the launch of 'Sharda Care-Health City' in Greater Noida, Adityanath highlighted the necessity of reinforcing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that world-class medical services are available to all citizens across the nation.

“A civilised society necessitates excellent health services. The government is consistently striving to encourage investments in the healthcare sector,” he remarked.

“We have seen an extraordinary enhancement in health facilities over the last ten years,” the Chief Minister added.

He pointed out that the number of AIIMS has escalated from merely six in 70 years to 22 in the last decade under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Additionally, the CM mentioned that Uttar Pradesh had only 12 medical colleges until 2017, but now, 40 new medical colleges have been inaugurated over the last eight years. Furthermore, 37 medical colleges have been established in the private sector, along with three under the public-private partnership model in Maharajganj, Sambhal, and Shamli.

“In the near future, medical colleges will also be established in Ballia and Balrampur, with budget provisions already made,” the CM mentioned, adding that medical colleges will also be set up in the remaining six districts of the state.

Currently, free dialysis, CT scans, and MRI services are available in every district, Adityanath noted, emphasizing that sufficient arrangements for doctors and technical personnel are being made in rural areas.

To advance healthcare in the state, every Sunday a 'Mukhyamantri Arogya Mela' is conducted, informing people about health schemes. “Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of 10 crore individuals who have received golden cards under the Ayushman Bharat scheme,” Adityanath stated.

Moreover, Asha workers, ANMs, home guards, PRD jawans, and chowkidars will also be granted health insurance of Rs 5 lakh.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the rising potential of health tourism in the country. “Health tourism is an expanding sector, and India has the potential to lead in it,” he said.
