Aahida Singh delivered the standout performance of the girls' singles quarterfinals at the KSLTA World Tennis Tour Junior J30 Bengaluru on 3 September, defeating third seed and fellow Bengaluru player Disha Kumar 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the semifinals. The all-city clash was closely contested throughout, with both players producing high-quality stroke-play before Aahida's composure at key moments proved the difference.

Aahida's Composed Win Over Disha

The match between the two Bengaluru players was evenly matched for long stretches, with Disha Kumar pushing her unseeded opponent in both sets. However, Aahida Singh repeatedly raised her level at crucial junctures, converting the tight moments to take each set 6-4 and seal her place in the last four. In the semifinals, Aahida will face Zoha Qureshi, who advanced via a walkover against Bawyasri Asr.

Shreeniti and Vasundra Set Up All-Seeds Semifinal

Fourth seed Shreeniti Chowdhury, 15, continued her impressive run at the tournament, dismissing eighth seed Riddhi Shinde 6-1, 6-4 to reach the semifinals. She will face sixth seed Vasundra Balajee, who was dominant in her quarterfinal, defeating Akshita Antil 6-3, 6-0.

Tejas Ravi Edges Through in Boys' Singles

In the boys' singles quarterfinals, top seed and home favourite Tejas Ravi, 17, survived a stern test from Shlok Chauhan, winning 6-4, 7-6(5). Tejas produced flashes of brilliance under pressure but was also troubled by unforced errors, with Shlok forcing a tie-break in the second set before the top seed held his nerve to close out the match in straight sets.

Tejas will next face third seed Niyanth Badrinarayanan of the USA, who beat Mahijeet Pradhan 6-2, 6-4. The other semifinal will see sixth seed Fazal Ali Meer take on fourth seed Vivaan Mirdha. Fazal produced a notable upset, defeating second seed Ahan Shetty 6-3, 6-1, while Vivaan accounted for Varad Undre 6-3, 6-2.
