AIPA Set to Host National Pickleball Championship in Bhubaneswar

Mumbai, Dec 12 (NationPress) Over 350 athletes from various parts of the country will be competing for prestigious titles and a prize fund of Rs 10 lakh during the 6th National Ranking Pickleball Championship, set to take place in Bhubaneswar from January 3 to 5.

This tournament marks the inaugural hosting of a pickleball event in the eastern region of India. The All India Pickleball Association (AIPA) is organizing the event in collaboration with the Pickleball Association of Odisha.

The championship will gather over 350 players across various age categories, representing a significant advancement in the growth and expansion of pickleball in India, as stated by the AIPA in a press release on Thursday.

Participants will compete in categories such as Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, tailored for different age brackets: 14U, 16U, 18U, Open, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+. The registration process started on December 4, 2024, and will conclude on December 26, 2024. All registrations must be completed online through the Khelomore platform.

This tournament is a crucial step towards promoting grassroots development in the area, aiming to inspire active participation from players in Odisha and surrounding states. With skilled competitors hailing from 23 AIPA-affiliated states, including Chandigarh, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand, the event promises intense competition as they strive for a generous prize pool of Rs 1 million (Rs 10 lakhs).

To ensure a comfortable experience for all participants, the AIPA has stated that basic accommodation and meals will be provided throughout the event.

This event not only underscores our dedication to promoting pickleball nationwide but also serves as a platform for players from diverse regions to showcase their skills. With an expected turnout of over 350 participants, we are confident that this championship will motivate more individuals in Odisha and neighboring states to adopt the sport, nurturing its growth at the grassroots level.”

The event guarantees three days filled with high-energy competition and camaraderie, celebrating the essence of pickleball while paving the way for future champions.
