Ahmedabad, Aug 31 (NationPress) The Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), the officially recognized National Sports Federation for Pickleball under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), has successfully wrapped up its significant two-day selection trials held at the IPA Centre of Excellence in Ahmedabad on August 30 and 31.
These groundbreaking trials signify the establishment of Team India’s inaugural official national pickleball squad, which is set to represent the nation at the second edition of the Pickleball World Cup, scheduled to take place in Florida, USA from October 27 to November 2, under the auspices of the Global Pickleball Federation.
The trials attracted participation from over 140 elite players from various states across India, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Haryana, and Rajasthan, all competing for a place on Team India. Selections were conducted in three categories: Open, Under-16, and 50+.
