Mumbai, April 1 (NationPress) Following the tremendous triumph of its debut season in February, the Pro & Challenger Pickleball League is set to make a grand return for its Season 2 from December 16 to 23.
This league will unite the best pickleball talents, with players being chosen through an auction-style drafting process. The registration period for players wishing to enter the auction commenced on Tuesday.
The league promises a substantial prize pool, where each Pro team will earn a total of USD 62,500, and Challenger teams will receive USD 12,500.
A total of 75 Pro and 75 Challenger players have been shortlisted, with the auction scheduled for July/August 2025. This competitive draft will enable the selection of five players per team (comprising 50 Pro and 50 Challenger players). Additionally, the league will feature an exhilarating Grand Slam of Pickleball, enhancing the sport's profile in India.
Regarding the forthcoming season, Shashank Khaitan, a partner at Global Sports, remarked, "Pickleball is expanding at an extraordinary rate in India. With the return of the Global Sports Pro & Challenger League at the year's end, we are establishing a world-class platform for athletes to demonstrate their abilities."
