Notably, Maaya Rajeshwaran, a promising talent who was part of the reserve squad during India’s qualification for the play-off tie, has not been included in this roster.
India has been placed in Group G alongside Slovenia and the seventh-seeded Netherlands. This will be India’s second appearance in the play-off tie, having previously competed in 2021 when they lost 3-1 to Latvia.

In April 2025, the Indian team delivered an impressive performance in Pune by defeating the Korea Republic 2-1, securing second place in the Billie Jean King Cup Asia-Oceania Group 1 and qualifying for the upcoming play-off. India finished just behind New Zealand in that event.
