Arteta Acknowledges Arsenal's League Dominance in '24 Yet Seeks Major Trophy

London, Jan 3 (NationPress) Mikel Arteta has confidently declared that Arsenal emerged as the leading team in the league for 2024, yet his squad still lacks any significant trophies to showcase.
During a discussion about his team’s goals, he emphasized the need for consistency and expressed hope to turn their luck around.
"We must demonstrate the same level of consistency and even more, because last year we were the best team in the league, broke numerous records, and still haven’t clinched a major trophy, indicating that something is missing. It’s going to hinge on very fine, small details; specific games and situations can be pivotal, but ultimately, we are so close, and we just need to shift that coin to the other side to make it happen. That will only occur if we execute what we can control; the remainder is beyond our reach," stated Arteta.
While Manchester City secured the 2023/24 championship and Liverpool has been the standout team thus far this season, it is Arsenal that concluded the year at the top of the calendar year table with 85 points across 36 matches.
Arteta's squad has blended attacking brilliance with solid defending, netting 89 goals and allowing just 25, marking them as one of the most balanced teams in Europe.
With Bukayo Saka sidelined due to injury and Arsenal facing challenges in scoring recently, Gabriel Jesus, who has struggled with form and been injured for a significant part of the year, has risen to the occasion, scoring six goals in the last four matches.
"It’s essential to back our players, and they understand that they must navigate through periods that are not exactly as they envisioned because it’s a part of the process. They also need to maintain self-belief, and we must ensure that if they ever doubt themselves, we are there to acknowledge them and convey how much we appreciate them and how pleased we are to have them," Arteta remarked.
