New Delhi, Sep 21 (NationPress) Indian cricketer Sai Kishore suggests that the perceived lack of excitement for the upcoming Super 4s match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup could be due to the strength of Team India.
The highly anticipated face-off will take place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium this Sunday. Having previously secured a decisive win during the group stage against Pakistan, the Men in Blue aim to replicate that success in their next match.
"This match holds significant importance. While I don’t keep up with social media trends, I sense there’s still excitement, and I’ll be watching every moment of the game—every single over. Given the strength of the Indian team, it’s natural that the balance of competition may seem tilted in their favor, which could explain why the hype around this clash is subdued," Sai Kishore stated in an interview with IANS.
Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team has achieved three consecutive victories in the tournament, maintaining an unbeaten record as they proceed to the Super 4s.
Yadav’s captaincy has garnered praise from analysts, and Kishore recognizes his leadership as pivotal to the team’s success thus far.
"The remarkable performance of Team India speaks volumes. Surya has been nothing short of exceptional as a captain," the spinner remarked.
After the showdown with their arch-rivals Pakistan, India will also take on Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the Super 4s phase. Each team will compete against the other three, aiming to secure a place in the top two of the points standings.
The top two teams will advance to the final, set to take place on September 28.
