Hobart, Nov 2 (NationPress) Tim David emerged as the standout performer with a stunning 74 runs, while Marcus Stoinis contributed significantly with 64 runs, propelling Australia to a challenging total of 186/6 against India during the third T20I at Bellerive Oval on Sunday.

David's explosive innings came off just 38 balls and included eight fours and five sixes, setting the stage for Australia. Stoinis maintained the momentum with his 39-ball innings, hitting eight fours and two sixes.

From the Indian side, the returning Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for 35 runs, while Varun Chakaravarthy bagged two for 33. Together, Arshdeep and Jasprit Bumrah delivered an impressive display of yorkers and low full tosses, conceding only 16 runs in the final two overs.

Australia began their innings with Travis Head hitting Arshdeep for four but was dismissed the next ball. Arshdeep struck again to send Josh Inglis back to the pavilion. Promoted to number four, David's aggressive intent was clear as he drove and lofted boundaries against Arshdeep and Bumrah.

He dispatched Chakaravarthy for a six and a four in his first over and received a lifeline at 20 when Washington Sundar dropped a sharp catch off Bumrah. After another boundary against Bumrah, David was merciless against Axar Patel, hitting two sixes, the second of which was an enormous 129 meters, landing atop the stadium's roof.

He continued to target Shivam Dube with a couple of boundaries, reaching a rapid half-century in just 23 balls. However, Chakaravarthy turned the tide for India with two quick wickets in the ninth over, dismissing both Marsh and Mitchell Owen.

While Marsh struggled, mistiming a shot to long-off, Owen faced just one delivery before falling to a sharp slower ball that hit his stumps. David quickly retaliated, smashing Chakaravarthy for two sixes.

Stoinis joined in on the boundary-hitting spree, pulling and flicking Dube for back-to-back sixes, though Dube ultimately had the last laugh as David was caught out. Stoinis and Matthew Short contributed three boundaries each to push Australia past 150. Stoinis was given another chance after a diving catch by substitute Rinku Singh was deemed to have touched the ground. Despite Stoinis being dismissed in the final over, Australia crossed the 180-mark.
