Hobart, Nov 2 (NationPress) Former Australia captain Aaron Finch praised left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh for his remarkable performance during India’s five-wicket victory over Australia in the third T20I at the Bellerive Oval. He noted that any team would be incredibly fortunate to have a bowler with such a skill set in their squad.

Making his debut in the five-match T20I series, Arshdeep was awarded Player of the Match for his impressive figures of 3-35, which restricted Australia to 186/6, a target that India successfully chased with nine balls remaining. Throughout his spell, Arshdeep dismissed both Travis Head and Josh Inglis during the power-play and later took down Marcus Stoinis at a crucial moment.

“Any team would be lucky to have a bowler with Arshdeep’s attributes. I genuinely admire his attitude every time he bowls. He possesses the skill, height, and the capacity to swing the ball in both directions. He can increase his pace when necessary and consistently implements his strategies effectively,” stated Finch.

“While he may occasionally concede runs, he plays with immense spirit and maintains a smile. Most importantly, he secures invaluable powerplay wickets that can significantly impact the outcome of matches,” Finch remarked on JioStar.

Furthermore, he commended Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma for their poise under pressure during the chase. Specifically, Sundar scored a magnificent unbeaten 49 off just 23 balls, featuring three fours and four sixes, making him the top scorer in India’s successful pursuit of 187, allowing them to level the five-match series at 1-1.

His entry at the crease alleviated pressure from the established batsman, Tilak Varma, which is essential in T20 cricket.
