He was accompanied by fellow teammate S. Vishwanath (Services), who effortlessly defeated C. Lukas (Tamil Nadu) with a score of 5:0, and Mohammad Husamuddin (Services), the World Championship bronze medallist, who secured his semifinal spot with a commanding 5:0 win against M. Henthoi Singh (Services).
The inaugural BFI Cup 2025 is taking place in Chennai from October 1–7, organized by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) to provide a platform for emerging boxers to demonstrate their abilities while allowing seasoned athletes to assess their training. This competition features elite men and women pugilists across 10 weight categories, adhering to World Boxing standards.
