BGT 2024-25: Boland Steps in for Injured Hazlewood in Australia's Squad for Adelaide Test

Adelaide, December 5 (NationPress) Scott Boland will step in for the injured Josh Hazlewood in the pink ball Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India as Australia disclosed their playing XI on Thursday.
This match marks Boland's return to the Australian team after nearly 18 months, with his last Test appearance during the previous year's Ashes series.
The only modification to the playing XI is Boland's inclusion. Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh will stay in the lineup despite experiencing back stiffness that limited his bowling capabilities during India's second innings.
India has yet to announce their squad for the second Test starting on Friday at the Adelaide Oval. With the return of their regular captain Rohit Sharma, it will be intriguing to see which middle-order batter may have to sit out for this pink-ball match.
Australia faced a significant defeat of 295 runs in the series opener in Perth, marking their second-largest loss by runs against India in Test history, following the 320-run defeat in the 2008 Mohali Test.
Australia's XI for the second Test includes: Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
