Ahmedabad, Dec 1 (NationPress) The esteemed golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar makes a highly anticipated comeback to the IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad, joined by Karandeep Kochhar, as the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) Tour continues its journey in Ahmedabad following the Bharath Classic.
These two golf veterans, alongside the leading figure in the IGPL Order of Merit, Aman Raj, Pune champion Kapil Kumar, Jamshedpur victor Pukhraj Singh Gill, and third-place finisher at the Bharath Classic Sachin Baisoya, are all set to compete in this prestigious event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the IGPL.
Bhullar previously clinched victories in the initial two tournaments held in Chandigarh and Jaypee Greens, whereas Kochhar is on the lookout for his inaugural win. He did triumph in an Asian Development Tour tournament in Egypt and secured fifth place in the ADT Order of Merit, which qualifies him for the Asian Tour in 2026.
The total prize money for this event is set at Rs. 1.5 crore, with the champion taking home Rs. 22.50 lakh. Currently, Aman Raj leads the Order of Merit standings.
The IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad marks the ninth event of the season, with the final two tournaments scheduled to take place in Dubai and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Bhullar, who has been participating in the International Series while managing personal commitments, previously dominated the first two legs of the IGPL. Following his performance, Kapil Kumar claimed victory in Pune and Gill took the title in Jamshedpur. Together, they are poised to bring excitement to the magnificent Glade One Golf Resort and Club.
Notable Olympians Udayan Mane and SSP Chawrasia, as well as Asian Tour champions like Chiragh Kumar, have entered the IGPL Invitational Ahmedabad.
The lineup also features international players, including Justin Quiban from the Philippines and Santiago De La Fuentes from Mexico, both of whom participated in last week’s Bharath Classic. Additionally, Varun Chopra, an American of Indian descent, and Manav Shah, another American of Indian origin, are also competing.
The two emerging talents, Kartik Singh and Veer Ganapathy, who were instrumental in launching the IGPL Tour, have faced significant challenges recently and are eager to redeem themselves this week.
Although Pranavi Urs, who made history as the first female professional to win in a mixed-field event in India, is not participating in the women's division, the competition will feature Ridhima Dilawari and Jasmine Shekar, among others.
