London, Feb 26 (NationPress) Chelsea broke free from its troubling streak with a commanding 4-0 victory over the last-placed Southampton, propelling them back into the top four of the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca's squad alleviated some concerns following recent lackluster performances with goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, Levi Colwill, and Marc Cucurella—though the quality of the opposition makes it difficult to ascertain if this marks the end of their troubles.

This result allows Maresca’s team to surpass AFC Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Manchester City to claim the fourth spot, although the latter two clubs have matches scheduled for Wednesday. Southampton remains at the bottom with only nine points from 27 matches.

“We all needed that. We were in a bad run in terms of results. The performance was always there, perhaps except against Brighton. The club needed this win. We are pleased. We have already stated that every game from now on is crucial. If we secure three points, it's even better,” said Maresca.

Ismaila Sarr netted twice as Crystal Palace maintained their impressive form with a 4-1 triumph against Aston Villa. Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eddie Nketiah also found the back of the net for Palace, while Morgan Rogers scored for the visitors.

Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck led Brighton to a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth in a match featuring two teams vying for European qualification next season. Pedro opened the scoring, and Welbeck secured the win after Justin Kluivert equalized for Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers faced a setback at home against Fulham, who claimed all three points with goals from Ryan Sessegnon, who opened the scoring in the first minute, and Rodrigo Muniz, who clinched the victory after Joao Gomes had leveled for Wolves.

Looking ahead, Liverpool will host Newcastle United, Tottenham faces Manchester City, and Manchester United takes on Ipswich Town in three of the most captivating matches scheduled for Wednesday.
