Dubai, Jan 28 (NationPress) As the ILT20 Season 3 approaches its thrilling conclusion, renowned Indian cricketer and iconic spinner Harbhajan Singh has expressed his admiration for the heightened competition and remarkable performances being showcased.

Reflecting on the current season, Harbhajan commented on the tournament’s evolution. "The tournament is progressing well, and we’ve witnessed some fantastic cricket. The encouraging aspect of this tournament is that every team has displayed quality, indicating they all have an opportunity to bounce back.”

He also noted, “The diversity in pitches across the three venues adds to the competitiveness and excitement.”

Among the notable talents from the UAE this season, Harbhajan pointed out the impressive skills of Aayan Afzal Khan from the Gulf Giants. "Aayan Afzal Khan is excelling. I have been following his journey and conversing with him since the inaugural season. I believe Aayan could clinch the Blue Belt award for the most valuable UAE player. As the wickets become drier throughout the tournament, spinners will play a crucial role, making it an exciting watch.”

Focusing on the Desert Vipers, the first team to secure a playoff spot, Harbhajan commended their all-around capabilities. "From the matches I’ve observed or contributed to during my time here, I find the Desert Vipers to be exceptionally strong. They possess an outstanding bowling lineup featuring talents like Mohammed Amir and Lockie Ferguson, alongside a batting lineup packed with serious firepower. They are genuine title contenders,” remarked the legendary off-spinner.

Looking forward, Harbhajan shared his predictions for the leading run-scorer (Green Belt) and wicket-taker (White Belt) of the season. "I believe Fazalhaq Farooqi and Mohammed Amir have been outstanding with the ball, consistently taking wickets in every match. One of them might end up at the top. Currently, Shai Hope and Tom Banton have accumulated significant runs, but the latter stages of the tournament are just beginning. I’m eager to see more players step up, score runs, and advance in the rankings,” said the Turbanator.

Regarding the league's future, Harbhajan stated, “This league holds significant importance for UAE cricket. Presently, there are two UAE players in each team, and that number could rise to three or four in the upcoming seasons as UAE players continue to improve.”
