Wollongong (Australia), March 21 (NationPress) Diksha Dagar delivered another impressive performance with a score of 3-under 68, bringing her total to 7-under following the second round of the Women’s Open at Wollongong Golf Club. After being Tied-fourth in the initial round, she now stands Tied-sixth as Sara Kouskova (67-63) and Mimi Rhodes (68-62) share the lead at 12-under, five strokes ahead of Diksha.

Also making the cut were Pranavi Urs (71-68) and rookie Avani Prashanth (72-67), both finishing Tied-19th at 3-under for 36 holes.

Diksha began her round with a birdie on the first hole but suffered a setback with a bogey on the fifth, a repeat from the previous day. She quickly regained momentum with a birdie on the seventh, only to drop another shot on the Par-5 ninth, mirroring yesterday's performance. However, she finished strong, scoring three birdies on the 13th, 17th, and 18th holes, ending with a 68.

Pranavi also had a solid second round, starting with a birdie and adding more on the 14th, 16th, and 17th holes, but dropped a shot on the seventh, finishing with a 68.

Avani, who has previously clinched titles on her home Tour, the Women’s Pro Golf Tour and LETAS, kicked off her round with two consecutive birdies. She continued to score on the ninth, 10th, 13th, 15th, and 16th holes but ended her round with a bogey after dropping shots on the fourth and fifth, concluding with a 67.

Both Mimi and Sara recorded personal best rounds, though the second round was still in progress with ten players remaining due to darkness in New South Wales.

Rhodes had a remarkable outing, carding 10 birdies for a course-record 62, including a spectacular finishing birdie on the par-3 8th after a lengthy wait due to a thunder and lightning delay.

As daylight faded on Friday evening, Kouskova matched the rookie’s performance with a bogey-free round of 63 (-8).

The Czech golfer managed to maintain her focus after a thunder delay while putting for eagle on the 13th hole. She successfully converted the eagle and added six birdies for a flawless round.

In solo third place is Kirsten Rudgeley at 9-under, while Spain’s Blanca Fernandez and Sweden’s Moa Folke are tied for fourth at 8-under.

The cut currently stands at one-over, with ten players still to complete their rounds at Wollongong Golf Club.
