Dubai, April 2 (NationPress) Jacob Duffy, the seam bowler from New Zealand, has claimed the top position in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings after contributing significantly to his team's decisive victory over Pakistan in Wellington, securing a 4-1 series win.
Duffy soared past West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein to achieve this milestone, following an extraordinary series against Pakistan where he captured an impressive 13 wickets, averaging just 8.38, leading New Zealand to a dominant 4-1 series triumph.
Last week, the pacer jumped seven spots to tie for fifth with Adam Zampa, and this week he surpassed Wanindu Hasaranga, Adil Rashid, Varun Chakravarthy, and Hosein.
This marks the first occasion Duffy has held the No.1 bowler ranking in any format, and he is the first New Zealander to achieve this elite status in men's T20I cricket since Ish Sodhi in 2018.
