Bucharest, Jan 31 (NationPress) Ruben Amorim emphasizes that securing automatic progression to the last-16 of the UEFA Europa League is a significant achievement for Manchester United.

A 2-0 victory against FCSB not only solidified Man United's position among the top eight teams in the league phase but also allowed them to skip the two-legged knockout round play-off scheduled for February.

Two goals within an eight-minute span in the second half clinched the win, with Diogo Dalot netting the opener at Romania's National Arena in the 60th minute, marking United as the only unbeaten side in the Europa League at this stage of the tournament, finishing third in their group.

“This is a big deal for us. The excitement of winning, that sense of achievement, and now we have two weeks to refine our strategies and prepare for upcoming matches. It’s extremely significant for our team. We’re advancing to the next level, and our primary focus now is to recover well,” Amorim stated during the post-match press conference.

“The feeling of victory is becoming more familiar, which is crucial. You can sense the locker room is more at ease, but in a constructive manner, as we are aware that circumstances can shift come Sunday. However, the atmosphere feels distinct. We aim to maintain this winning mentality to enhance our performance,” he continued.

United can now put their European ambitions on hold until the round-of-16 clash in March against one of four possible rivals, while also shifting their attention back to the Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford this Sunday.
