Gill's remarkable performances, including scores of 269 and 161, have placed him among the elite, marking him as only the second player ever to achieve over 150 runs in both innings of a Test match. His total of 430 runs in a single Test is now the second-highest in history, allowing him to leap 15 places to a career-best sixth position.
Previously, Gill was ranked 14th in September last year and started this series at 23rd. On the other hand, Brook ascends to the top of the Test batting rankings after delivering an impressive 158 in the first innings of the second Test in Birmingham.
