Bengaluru, March 26 (NationPress) Renowned former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has organized a specialized camp for promising off-spinners at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE). The objective was to enhance their skills and impart tactical knowledge to young talents.

According to a report by IANS on March 2, Harbhajan was set to conduct this camp following a fast-bowling camp led by former India left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan, which catered to India A and U19 seam bowlers earlier this month.

“As one of India's premier spinners, Harbhajan Singh engaged with off-spinners from the High Performance monitoring group and the Emerging Off Spinners at the BCCI CoE,” stated the BCCI.

“The sessions were rich in content, covering everything from technical expertise to tactical strategies, allowing participants to gain valuable insights from the legendary player through simulated scenarios,” the BCCI shared on their ‘X’ account on Thursday.

Among the attendees benefiting from Harbhajan's mentorship from March 23 to 26 were Tanush Kotian, an off-spin bowling all-rounder from Mumbai, along with his teammate Himanshu Singh. Additionally, Saransh Jain, an off-spinner from Madhya Pradesh, also participated in the camp.

“I had a wonderful time with our future players. Truly enjoyed it,” Harbhajan expressed on his Instagram account.

In his illustrious career, Harbhajan has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests, boasting an average of 32.46, making him the fourth-highest wicket-taker for India in Test cricket. In ODIs, he ranks as the fifth-highest wicket-taker among Indian bowlers with 269 wickets in 236 matches, alongside 25 wickets in 28 T20Is.

Beginning his international career in 1998, Harbhajan was part of the Indian squad that clinched the 2007 Men’s T20 World Cup and the 2011 Men’s ODI World Cup. One of the defining moments of his career was achieving a hat-trick against Australia in March 2001, during a historic match where he claimed 32 wickets across three Tests, marking an iconic moment in Indian cricket history.
