Bengaluru, Aug 17 (NationPress) As the 2025/26 domestic season approaches with the Duleep Trophy kicking off on August 28, the BCCI has announced the successful completion of a fast bowling development camp at its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
During this intensive camp, 22 bowlers—14 targeted pacers and 8 from the Under-19 category—participated in a rigorous program focusing on various elements of fast bowling, both in terms of skill and fitness.
“At the BCCI Centre of Excellence, fourteen targeted and eight Under-19 fast bowlers engaged in the Fast Bowling Development program, which has been a crucial initiative in recent years,” stated a BCCI representative.
“Alongside fitness assessments, players honed their skills and tactical understanding under the guidance of Mr. Troy Cooley, the Fast Bowling Coach at BCCI CoE, ensuring they are thoroughly prepared for the upcoming season,” the BCCI shared in a video on its ‘X’ account.
The video showcased players like Harshit Rana and Anshul Kamboj, who recently debuted in Test cricket during the England tour, engaging in various training activities. Other notable participants included Simarjeet Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Suryansh Shedge, Gurjapneet Singh, and Yudhvir Singh Charak.
Interestingly, Suyash Sharma and Shreyas Iyer were also observed, suggesting they were part of routine fitness evaluations at the CoE. Reports indicate that Vijaykumar Vyshak, Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Thakur, and Raj Bawa also joined the fast bowling camp.
Ultimately, the aim of this comprehensive fast bowling camp is to cultivate more frontline fast-bowling talents to support stalwarts like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami in upcoming international series or tournaments.
