New Delhi, March 29 (NationPress) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Sunday the successful completion of an extensive workshop for fielding coaches at its Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

The initiative integrated both classroom instruction and practical on-field modules, providing the attending coaches a comprehensive insight into contemporary fielding strategies from both a technical and tactical perspective.

“Here’s a recap from the Fielding Coaches' Workshop held at the BCCI CoE. The sessions comprised both classroom and practical modules. Participants had the chance to enhance their skills by learning from leading fielding experts who conducted the sessions,” shared the BCCI via its ‘X’ account.

The BCCI also shared images of VVS Laxman, the head of cricket, along with T Dilip, the current fielding coach for the men’s team, Munish Bali, who coaches the women’s team, and Shubhadeep Ghosh, the fielding coach for the U19 Men’s World Cup-winning squad, as they engaged with workshop participants.

Earlier in the month, former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh led specialized camps at the CoE. The three-day high-performance camp led by Zaheer at the beginning of March was tailored for fast bowlers from India A and U19 teams, focusing on their readiness for red-ball cricket.

The camp led by Harbhajan, which took place last week, aimed at honing skills and imparting tactical knowledge to the pool of off-spinners in the country. Participants included Mumbai’s off-spin all-rounder Tanush Kotian, his teammate Himanshu Singh, and Madhya Pradesh off-spinner Saransh Jain.

Zaheer was instrumental in the Indian team’s triumph in the 2002 Champions Trophy (jointly with Sri Lanka) and the 2011 ODI World Cup, where he emerged as the joint highest wicket-taker. In contrast, Harbhajan was part of the squad that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 World Cup.
