Jaipur, Sep 15 (NationPress) In a thrilling encounter, the Haryana Steelers secured a narrow 40-37 victory against the Gujarat Giants at the SMS Indoor Stadium in Jaipur during Monday's opening match.

Team captain Jaideep Dahiya showcased his leadership with a commendable high five, while Shivam Patare contributed significantly with nine raid points and three tackle points. Vinay also made his mark by scoring eight raid points, highlighting a well-rounded team performance from the Haryana Steelers. The team's five crucial duper tackles ultimately became the deciding factor in this contest.

On the opposing side, Rakesh Sungroya managed to secure a Super 10 with fourteen points, although his efforts went unrewarded.

The match kicked off with intense energy, as raiders from both teams displayed aggressive tactics right from the start. Vinay and Rakesh exchanged points before Shubham Kumar executed a tackle on Shivam Patare during a do-or-die raid, granting the Gujarat Giants an early two-point lead.

The offensive pace remained high as Rakesh scored five points within six minutes, amplifying the Giants' lead. Meanwhile, Vinay ensured that Haryana stayed competitive by scoring their first four points.

Demonstrating their resilience, the defending champions executed a Super Tackle through Sahil Narwal, bringing the score to 7-6.
