New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) Hockey India has announced the 24-member squad for the upcoming Hobart segment of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26, scheduled from February 20 to 25 at the Tasmania Hockey Centre in Hobart. This leg promises thrilling matches featuring India, Spain, and the hosting nation, Australia.

Following the Rourkela phase, where the team competed against Belgium and Argentina, all eyes are now on the Hobart leg. The Indian squad is a blend of seasoned players and emerging talents, all set to enhance their performance.

Leading the team is Hardik Singh, a veteran and two-time Olympic bronze medallist from Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. The team also features promising newcomers like Amandeep Lakra and Manmeet Singh, who made their senior debuts during the Rourkela leg. However, Harmanpreet Singh will not participate due to personal commitments.

The goalkeeping responsibilities will be shared by Suraj Karkera and Mohith Honnenahalli Shashikumar. The defensive lineup includes experienced players like Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, and Sumit, along with young talents such as Amandeep Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, and Poovanna Chandura Boby.

In midfield, Hardik Singh, Sanjay, Vivek Sagar Prasad, and Raj Kumar Pal will be at the helm, supported by Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Vishnu Kant Singh.

Upfront, the attack will be led by notable players like Mandeep Singh, Abhishek, and Shilanand Lakra. Maninder Singh makes his return after participating in the Hero Asia Cup 2022, while Angad Bir Singh rejoins for his first international outing since his debut last year. Newcomers Araijeet Singh Hundal and Aditya Arjun Lalage will round out the forward lineup.

This Hobart leg of the FIH Men’s Pro League 2025–26 serves as a crucial opportunity for the Indian team to regroup and prepare for the upcoming Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup and Asian Games later this year.

Commenting on the squad selection, chief coach Craig Fulton stated, "After four challenging matches in Rourkela, we gained valuable insights and made significant improvements. The inclusion of three new players was particularly exciting. As we head into Hobart, we're focused on enhancing our performance and solidifying our squad for the World Cup and the Asian Games."
