New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) The Hockey India League 2025-2026 is set to make its much-anticipated return to Bhubaneswar, the cradle of hockey, starting January 17. The ticket sales commenced on Tuesday at 11:00 am IST, and in an exciting move, Hockey India has made tickets available for free to fans eager to witness the action live.

The finale of the league will be held on January 26.

Chairperson of the Hockey India League (HIL) Governing Committee, Dilip Tirkey, expressed, “As the Hockey India League returns to the hockey hub of India in Bhubaneswar, there is certainly a lot of excitement among hockey fans in the region to come watch their favourite stars live in action. To encourage more fans to come to the stadium and enjoy the thrilling matches, Hockey India has made the tickets free of cost. I believe this will encourage more fans from across Odisha to come to Bhubaneswar and watch some exciting hockey.”

Member of the HIL governing committee, Bhola Nath Singh, also urged more fans to attend the matches in person, stating, “HIL will culminate in Bhubaneswar on January 26 and we expect hockey fans to come and enjoy #hockeykajashn. It was our aim to increase the fanbase for our sport across regions, and I believe the final in Bhubaneswar will witness a packed stadium.”

The league comprises eight men's teams and four women's teams, bringing fast-paced and exciting games with their newly redesigned formats.

Currently, in the Men's HIL, the Kalinga Lancers are leading the points table in the first phase in Chennai. The team kicked off their HIL campaign with a 4-2 victory at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium last Sunday.

On the women's side, the SG Pipers have already secured their spot in the finals as table toppers, clinching their final berth after the Soorma Hockey Club triumphed over the Ranchi Royals on Monday.
