This tournament is a pivotal step in the ICC’s global initiative aimed at enhancing women's cricket and increasing global participation in the sport.

This T20I competition will feature the top eight Associate Members, with five possessing ODI status and the other three being the elite-ranked teams in the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings as of the cut-off date, May 1, 2025.

The teams participating include Thailand, The Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, The United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Namibia, Tanzania, and Uganda. Matches will be held at two venues: the Terdthai Cricket Ground and the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok.

Each team will face off in a single round-robin format, culminating in the trophy presentation on November 30. The host nation enters the tournament ranked highest at 11th and is riding a nine-match winning streak, but they will face tough competition.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta stated, “It is the ICC and the Chair’s vision to sustainably expand Cricket’s footprint across the globe and grow the women’s game. Providing elite athletes from emerging nations more opportunities to play at the highest level is aimed at fast-tracking their development and enhancing the competitiveness of their teams.
