India Kicks Off Women's Junior Asia Cup with Impressive 13-1 Victory Over Bangladesh

Muscat, Dec 8 (NationPress) The Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team made a spectacular entrance at the Women's Asia Cup, dominating Bangladesh with a final score of 13-1 in their initial Pool A encounter at this prestigious tournament.
Mumtaz Khan (27', 32', 53', 58') was the standout player, netting four goals, while Deepika (7', 20', 55') and Kanika Siwach (12', 51', 51') both achieved a hat-trick during this high-scoring match. Manisha (10'), Beauty Dung Dung (33'), and Sakshi Rana (43') also contributed to the scoreline. For Bangladesh, Orpita Pal (12') was the only player to find the net.
The action kicked off when drag-flick expert Deepika opened the scoring for India in the seventh minute with a well-executed penalty corner. They quickly extended their lead in the 10th minute through another penalty corner, this time with Manisha finding the back of the net. Just two minutes later, India surged ahead 3-0 thanks to a brilliant field goal from Kanika Siwach.
However, an infringement by India led to a penalty corner for Bangladesh, which Orpita Pal converted, reducing the deficit to 3-1.
Despite this setback, the Indian squad maintained control and continued their aggressive play. Deepika added another field goal in the 20th minute, followed by Mumtaz Khan's goal in the 27th minute, pushing the score to 5-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Mumtaz struck again in the 32nd minute, followed by Beauty Dung Dung’s field goal in the 33rd minute, expanding India's lead to an overwhelming 7-1. Sakshi Rana then scored in the 43rd minute, leaving Bangladesh's defense reeling. As the match progressed, it became evident that the defending champions were intent on playing aggressively.
Both Kanika Siwach and Mumtaz Khan completed their hat-tricks in the fourth quarter. Siwach netted two goals in the 51st minute, while Mumtaz found the net again in the 53rd minute, raising the score to a remarkable 11-1. In the 55th minute, Deepika scored her third goal, and just before the final whistle, Mumtaz sealed the game with her fourth goal in the 58th minute, concluding the match with a resounding 13-1 victory for India.
