The youthful squad, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, equalized the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series by clinching the second Test with a staggering margin of 336 runs.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah praised Gill's batting performance, calling it an ‘innings of rare quality’ and expressed excitement for the upcoming third Test at Lord’s, which starts on July 10.

“An exceptional Test match highlighting the depth and resilience of Indian cricket. @ShubmanGill’s scores of 269 and 161 were outstanding, while Akashdeep’s ten-wicket haul was a remarkable achievement. Following their five-wicket loss in Leeds, India's bowling and fielding faced scrutiny. However, in Birmingham, despite the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the bowling unit excelled, particularly Akash Deep, who achieved a match total of ten wickets, including 6-99 on day five.

Sachin Tendulkar lauded India's strategy to secure a victory and level the series 1-1 in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Akash Deep, who replaced Bumrah, delivered a remarkable fast bowling performance, challenging batters on a flat pitch and bowling out England for 271 on the final day, with more than a session remaining.

Yuvraj Singh described the speedster as 'fearless and unplayable over the five days.
