New Delhi, May 8 (NationPress) The India women's national football team is set to compete in two FIFA Women’s International Friendly matches against Uzbekistan during the May/June 2025 International Window.
These matches will take place on May 30 and June 3 at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence located in Bengaluru.
Under the guidance of coach Crispin Chettri, the women’s team is gearing up for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers, having commenced their training camp in Bengaluru on May 1. India is grouped in Group B, where they will face Mongolia on June 23, Timor-Leste on June 29, Iraq on July 2, and the host country Thailand on July 5, in Chiang Mai.
Thailand will be the host for Group B, using a centralized single round-robin format. The top teams from this group will secure a spot in the final tournament, scheduled to be held across three host cities in Australia from March 1 to 26, 2026.
Currently ranked 69th in the FIFA Women’s Rankings, India has faced Uzbekistan, who are ranked 50th, a total of 13 times. In these encounters, Uzbekistan has won nine times, while India has claimed victory in one match, with three matches resulting in draws.
