New Delhi, Sep 29 (NationPress) India achieved a stunning victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, claiming their record-extending ninth title as Asian champions. The cricket community erupted with applause for the team.

Having bested their fierce rivals twice in the group stages, India completed a hat-trick of victories against the Men in Green this season to lift the trophy.

The final was a thrilling contest held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, concluding dramatically in the final over with India needing to score 10 runs from six balls.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan was restricted to a total of 146 runs in 19.1 overs, thanks to Kuldeep Yadav who dismantled the opposition's batting lineup. As India chased this target, they faced early challenges with key players like Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav dismissed during the powerplay.

However, the calm demeanor of Tilak Varma, who remained unbeaten with a half-century, along with solid performances from Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube, paved the way for Rinku Singh to clinch victory with just two balls to spare.

The cricket fraternity, alongside prominent politicians including the Prime Minister of India, expressed their congratulations to the Men in Blue for their triumph on Sunday.

Former cricketer Parthiv Patel shared on X, "Congratulations on the #AsiaCup2025 win! Truly impressed by how Tilak and Dube excelled under pressure. Kuldeep was exceptional throughout the tournament."

Irfan Pathan humorously addressed the neighboring nation, stating, "How was Sunday, neighbors? I know. The sound is missing."

“Rinku Singh played just one ball in the whole tournament and scored the winning runs in the final. Has that ever happened before? I doubt it, but the true hero is TILAK VARMA," remarked Sreevats Goswami.

“Tilak has the skill, technique, and passion to stand tall against Pakistan in a major final. He’s improved significantly and is very consistent,” noted Mohammad Kaif on X.
