The Indian junior women's hockey team will depart for a seven-match exposure tour of the United Kingdom from 5 to 14 July 2026, marking the squad's first major international assignment under newly-appointed head coach Tim White. The tour, organised by Hockey India, will see the side face Scotland Senior Women, England U-21, United States U-21, and Belgium U-21 across two venues.

Tour Schedule and Venues

The campaign opens in Edinburgh, Scotland, where India U-21 will play back-to-back matches against Scotland Senior Women at the Peffermill Playing Fields, University of Edinburgh, on 5 and 6 July. The squad then relocates to Lilleshall National Sports Centre in England for five further fixtures.

At Lilleshall, India face United States U-21 on 8 and 11 July, England U-21 on 9 and 12 July, and conclude the tour against Belgium U-21 on 14 July. The mix of a senior national side and three junior programmes offers a varied competitive test for the developing squad.

White's Objectives for the Tour

Coach Tim White described the assignment as a platform for learning rather than results alone. 'This tour presents a valuable opportunity for our players to gain exposure against quality international opposition and experience different styles of hockey,' he said. 'Matches against world-class junior programmes as well as Scotland's senior side will provide an excellent platform for learning and growth.'

White emphasised a process-driven approach: 'The objective is always to achieve strong performances, but more importantly, this tour will provide an opportunity for our group to understand where our strengths are as a team and areas of our game that require the most attention to keep improving.' He added that the tour would also help players 'gain the experience necessary for future transitions to the senior national team.'
