Mumbai, Dec 9 (NationPress) A remarkable 350 players are poised to participate in the IPL 2026 mini auction on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, as the BCCI has announced the Player Auction list for the upcoming season on Tuesday.
From a total of 1390 players who registered, only 350 players have made it to the shortlist.
Among the 350 players, 240 are Indian while 110 are international players. This group includes 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, greatly enhancing the depth and potential of this year’s auction.
Franchises will vie for 77 available slots, which includes 31 spots designated for overseas talent.
Notably, 40 players have set their base price at the maximum of Rs 2 crore, with Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi being the only two Indians on that list.
Earlier, 173 players were retained across teams, which includes 49 overseas players. A total auction purse of Rs 237.55 crore will be available for the 77 player slots.
Additionally, South African wicketkeepers Quinton de Kock and George Linde, along with Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage, have been added to the final list despite not being part of the longlist.
Heading into the auction, Kolkata Knight Riders hold the largest purse of Rs 64.3 crore to fill a maximum of 13 slots, including six overseas spots. The Chennai Super Kings follow with a substantial Rs 43.4 crore to fill nine slots.
Expectations are high for Cameron Green of Australia, who is predicted to be the most valuable acquisition at the IPL auction, with both KKR and CSK likely to make aggressive bids for the all-rounder.
