New Delhi, Nov 15 (NationPress) The Chennai Super Kings have parted ways with 12 players, including two through trades, as they prepare for the Indian Premier League 2026 auction. The trade of Ravindra Jadeja to Rajasthan Royals was a highlight on Saturday morning, but the franchise's decision to release the Kiwi duo Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway was equally significant.
Another unexpected move was the release of Matheesha Pathirana, the rising Sri Lankan pace talent, by the five-time champions. The team had previously acquired Deepak Hooda, Rahul Tripathi, and Vijay Shankar during the last auction, yet all three failed to make a notable impact and were subsequently let go.
Among those retained are former captain MS Dhoni and current captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. A key addition to the team is Sanju Samson, who was traded in from Rajasthan Royals.
Additionally, Shivam Dube, who has been making a name for himself with his all-round performances for Team India in white-ball formats, will continue to don the yellow jersey. Noor Ahmad, a standout wicket-taker for the franchise last year, along with Khaleel Ahmed, who made a mark with his powerplay bowling last season, have also been retained.
Young talent Ayush Mhatre, who showcased impressive performances for CSK in the 2025 season despite the team's challenges, retains his spot for the upcoming season.
Furthermore, Anshul Kamboj, the bowling all-rounder who recently excelled in red-ball matches for India A against South Africa A, has also been kept as the franchise aims to build for the future.
