New Delhi, July 30 (NationPress) After their outstanding all-round contributions in the drawn fourth Test held in Manchester, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ben Stokes have made significant strides in the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.

Jadeja's remarkable performance, which included four wickets and a resilient 107 not out in the second innings, has further solidified his position at the top of the all-rounders rankings with 422 rating points, placing him 117 points ahead of second-placed Mehidy Hasan of Bangladesh.

Additionally, Jadeja has ascended five ranks to secure the 29th position among batters, while also moving up one spot to 14th among bowlers.

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes, the captain of the England team, has risen three places to third among all-rounders, marking his highest ranking since December 2022. His impressive score of 141 in England’s only batting innings and a total of six wickets, including a five-wicket haul in the first innings, have contributed to his advancement of eight positions to 34th among batters, while he has also moved from 45th to 42nd among bowlers.

India’s off-spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar played a crucial role by scoring an unbeaten 101 in the second innings, forming an unbroken partnership of 203 runs with Jadeja for the fifth wicket, which was vital in helping India secure a draw in the Test. Sundar has climbed eight spots to 65th position.

He has also improved his standing by eight positions to joint-13th among all-rounders, having taken two wickets during the match.

Other notable performers from the Manchester Test include Joe Root, whose score of 150 has helped him extend his lead at the top of the batting rankings by 37 rating points over second-placed Kane Williamson. Openers Ben Duckett (up five places to 10th) and Zak Crawley (up two places to 43rd) have also shown commendable progress, while Ollie Pope has advanced to 24th position.

Jofra Archer’s performance, claiming 3-73, has propelled him up 38 spots to 63rd position, while Chris Woakes has moved up one position to 23rd after taking three wickets in the match, including two early strikes in India’s second innings.

In the T20I rankings, Abhishek Sharma, India’s left-handed batter, has claimed the top spot for the first time, following Travis Head’s year-long reign at the summit, which ended after he missed the series that Australia won 5-0 against the West Indies.

Additionally, Josh Inglis’s impressive 172 runs during the Caribbean series, which included two half-centuries, has enabled him to climb six places to ninth position. Tim David has risen 12 places to 18th, while Cameron Green has achieved a career-best ranking moving up 64 places to 24th.

For the West Indies, Brandon King has also made strides, moving up nine positions to joint-21st. The top seven bowlers remain unchanged, with Jacob Duffy retaining the top position after guiding New Zealand to victory in the tri-series in Zimbabwe with six wickets.
