Mumbai, April 18 (NationPress) Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja expressed admiration for Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya, highlighting his unwavering determination and commitment to lead the team effectively in all facets of the game.

Until last week, MI’s performance was struggling, but under Pandya, they have secured consecutive victories against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Pandya is currently tied for second place among the top wicket-takers in IPL 2025, having taken 11 wickets in six matches, alongside Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, and Shardul Thakur.

Hardik Pandya is a remarkable personality, leading from the front – be it in batting, bowling, fielding, or even off the field. He maintains a positive demeanor. The key trait about him is that he never surrenders. Although last year wasn't his best, he has remained true to his character this season, despite the early challenges,” Jadeja remarked on JioHotstar.

He also noted that MI’s revival in their campaign was ignited by their exhilarating 12-run victory against DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. “In my view, the pivotal moment was the recent match against Delhi Capitals. That contest seemed lost; most teams would have given up. However, Mumbai Indians fought back – and that’s the essence of Hardik Pandya,” he added.

“That match could be the catalyst for their season. Winning tonight was a bonus. It was a straightforward victory, but the Delhi game revealed the resilience of MI and Hardik. When Hardik Pandya steps onto the field, even needing 10, 12, or 15 runs an over, you still believe they have a better chance with him at bat,” Jadeja concluded.

Now positioned seventh in the points table, MI is set to pursue a third consecutive victory in IPL 2025 when they face off against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a high-stakes match at the Wankhede Stadium this Sunday evening.
