New Delhi, Jan 19 (NationPress) Ravindra Jadeja, the experienced left-arm spin bowling all-rounder, has rejoined Saurashtra for their upcoming Ranji Trophy clash against Delhi, having participated in the team's practice session in Rajkot.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Jadeja, who is included in India’s squad for the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy, attended Saurashtra’s net sessions on the morning of Sunday and trained alongside the squad led by left-arm fast-bowler Jaydev Unadkat.

Jadeja's previous Ranji Trophy appearance for Saurashtra was during his comeback from a knee injury against Tamil Nadu in January 2023, where he claimed eight wickets. He also played in three out of five Tests during India's tour of Australia, where the team suffered a 3-1 defeat.

Following this, the BCCI reportedly released a 10-point policy document, mandating participation in domestic cricket, with potential consequences for international selection and central contract renewals for non-compliance.

Saurashtra currently sits fifth in the Elite Group D points table with 11 points and will resume their Ranji Trophy campaign against fourth-placed Delhi, who have 14 points, at the Niranjan Shah Stadium on January 23.

Alongside Jadeja, several of his teammates not selected for the T20I series against England are expected to participate in the early stages of the second leg of the Ranji Trophy. Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will represent Delhi in Rajkot, while India’s Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal will play for Mumbai in their match against Jammu & Kashmir at the MCA ground in Bandra-Kurla Complex.

ODI vice-captain Shubman Gill is anticipated to play for Punjab in their match against Karnataka, who may miss KL Rahul due to an elbow strain. Additionally, Virat Kohli has not been included in Delhi’s squads for the remaining Ranji Trophy matches due to a neck injury.
