Chennai, Sep 8 (NationPress) After clinching a triple crown at the Madras International Circuit this past weekend, racing sensation Jagathishree Kumaresan is ready to make her international debut at the FIM Asia Women’s Cup of Circuit Racing (ACCR) in Thailand from September 12 to 14.

Following a stellar 2024 season, the 21-year-old, three-time National champion hailing from Chennai has been selected to represent FMSCI India at this prestigious event set to take place at the Thailand Circuit, Nakhonchaisi.

Jagathishree showcased her dominance in Round 3 of the National Championship 2025 by achieving a remarkable triple crown, winning both races in the Girls 165cc National Championship and triumphing in the competitive TVS one-make race.

Her journey to the international stage has been filled with challenges. Born on July 3, 2004, in Chennai, her passion for racing ignited unexpectedly when she witnessed a bike race on the ECR road, compelling her father to let her experience it, which led her to train with boys on larger bikes under the guidance of coach Mohamed Hanif at the One Racing team.

Jagathishree made her mark by finishing on the podium in her very first Rookies Class race during Round 1 of 2020, where she impressively surged from the back of the pack to seize second place. In 2021, she competed against boys in the TVS Rookies Championship and became the first girl to secure a podium that year, consistently remaining competitive. However, in 2022, she paused her racing career to focus on her Class 12 exams.

In 2023, she achieved her first National title with an undefeated record at the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Drag Racing Championship, defending that title in 2024 after winning the National racing title in the Ladies’ class.

Despite battling a serious right ankle injury requiring surgery, which she postponed until the championship concluded, she claimed the coveted MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2024 title. She secured the championship in a dramatic final round, recovering from a crash to finish the race in style. Later that year, the VM Sports Foundation-backed rider also won the drag Nationals 2024, marking her third National title.

“We treated her like any other rider, but her potential became evident over time,” stated her coach and mentor, Mohamed Hanif of the One Racing Team. “I trusted my instincts to place her on a faster track, and the results speak for themselves.”

The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) selected Jagathishree Kumaresan due to her exceptional double-title victory in 2024. Supported by the Bikerz module, Jagathishree is among the few riders to receive travel assistance from FIM Asia, covering air tickets and other arrangements for the Thailand event.

“Jagathi has been racing for four or five years now and has raced alongside boys in various categories. She is the current double champion, which led to her selection by FMSCI to represent India,” commented F. Dastur, Chairman of the FMSCI Two-Wheeler Racing Commission. “We wish her all the best.”

As an Archaeology graduate from Madras Christian College, who skillfully balanced academics with a rigorous racing schedule, Jagathishree now aims for a podium finish in Thailand. Her ultimate aspiration is to compete in the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR), marking her debut in Thailand as a significant milestone on her path to the global stage.
