New Delhi, Feb 24 (NationPress) Josh Little, a left-arm fast bowler from Ireland, is set to join Middlesex for the 2025 domestic cricket season in England. At just 25 years of age, Little will primarily participate in the club's T20 Blast tournament but remains available for other formats if required. His joining is contingent upon Cricket Ireland issuing a No Objection Certificate concerning his international and domestic commitments.

Having played 39 ODIs and 71 T20Is for Ireland, he has taken a total of 139 wickets in these formats, including an impressive 4-45 on his ODI debut against England in Dublin. Little has also represented Ireland in three Men’s T20 World Cups to date.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to join Middlesex, one of the most esteemed cricket clubs in the sport. I’m eager to meet everyone, reconnect with familiar faces, and dedicate myself fully on and off the field,” he stated.

“I appreciate Middlesex for their faith in me, and I am excited about what lies ahead. The chance to play at Lord’s is incredibly thrilling, and I am ready to begin this new chapter,” he added in a statement released by the club on Monday.

In addition to his international career, Little has participated in numerous T20 leagues globally. He has played for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL, Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL, Pretoria Capitals in the SA20, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20, LA Knight Riders in MLC, and Dambulla Giants in the LPL, alongside stints with Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire in the Hundred.

For the T20 Blast, Little is anticipated to be the overseas player for Middlesex, alongside Kane Williamson from New Zealand. “Acquiring a player of Josh’s T20 expertise and proven skills is a significant boost for us, as he has excelled at the highest levels of white-ball cricket globally in recent years,” stated Alan Coleman, Middlesex’s Director of Cricket.

“He adds a unique dimension to our bowling lineup. With genuine speed, being a left-armer creates additional challenges for batters, along with his fierce short ball and versatility to bowl at both the start and conclusion of innings. We eagerly anticipate Josh’s arrival and look forward to unleashing his talent on the Blast this summer,” he concluded.
