Previously holding a record of 8.12s for this distance, Jyothi achieved an impressive time of 8.07s in the heats, finishing in third place, and later clinched victory in the finals with an enhanced time of 8.04s, astonishingly improving her personal best twice within a single day.

Meanwhile, her fellow athlete from the Reliance Foundation, Tejas Shirse, fresh off a national record set in the men’s 60m hurdles at the CMCM Luxembourg Indoor Meeting, equaled his personal best of 7.65s during the heats.

In the final, he recorded a time of 7.68s, securing third place in his event, thus commencing his season positively, as per a release from the Reliance Foundation on Saturday.
