Fully financed by the Central Government, the Khelo India Multipurpose Hall has been constructed at an investment of Rs eight Crore. This facility aims to deliver cutting-edge infrastructure and training amenities to foster grassroots sports in the area.
Outfitted with modern conveniences, the hall will support various indoor sports such as boxing, badminton, judo, wushu, karate, taekwondo, weightlifting, table tennis, and volleyball. This will empower young athletes from the region to train professionally and participate in national and international competitions.
During the event, Mandaviya highlighted the Government of India’s dedication to comprehensive sports development, especially in remote areas.
“This initiative embodies our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to cultivate talent from every part of the nation. Arunachal Pradesh is rich in potential, and through such facilities, we strive to create avenues for youth to excel in sports and contribute to the nation's progress,” he stated.
The Union Minister also engaged with local youth and athletes, motivating them to fully utilize the facility. He further stressed the significance of incorporating fitness, sports, and discipline into daily life, particularly among the younger generation. Senior officials from the Sports Authority of India, state government representatives, and local dignitaries were in attendance at the event.
Kamle district is one of the 25 administrative districts in Arunachal Pradesh, with its headquarters located in Raga. The district derives its name from the Kamle River, which merges with the Subansiri River and eventually flows into the Brahmaputra in Assam.
