New Delhi, Sep 15 (NationPress) New Zealand's white-ball stars Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Tim Seifert, and Kane Williamson have reached an agreement to participate under NZC international casual playing contracts for the 2025-26 season.
This commitment ensures their participation for New Zealand in the 2026 T20 World Cup taking place in India and Sri Lanka, along with a designated number of series and matches leading up to the event.
The quintet will be available for selection in the forthcoming T20I series against Australia, England, and the West Indies, although Williamson has opted out of the series against the Australians.
Throughout the duration of their casual contracts, the five players will have access to all services provided to those on full-time contracts. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) CEO Scott Weenink emphasized the importance of securing these stars with the next T20 World Cup less than six months away.
“With such a major event approaching, we wanted to ensure our top T20 players are prepared and available for selection,” he stated.
“These casual agreements signify a commitment from the players to NZC and the Black Caps, and in exchange, NZC will extend our full support as part of our high-performance framework.
“The players have conveyed that representing the Black Caps is immensely significant to them, and I’m delighted we’ve managed to finalize agreements for the upcoming season.
“Coach Rob Walter and the team face a substantial period of cricket both at home and abroad, and I, along with all our fans, eagerly anticipate the journey ahead.”
