This comprehensive refresher programme will run until Sunday (June 15) at Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tercentenary (SGT) University, Budhera, Gurugram.
Over 100 technical officials from more than 30 states and Union Territories in India, along with 15 international participants from countries such as Australia, Nepal, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, have registered for this intensive course, as reported by KKFI in a release on Wednesday.
In a groundbreaking initiative, KKFI has also opened online access to international federations, facilitating global participation and knowledge exchange regardless of geographical constraints.
The training programme includes expert-led lectures and organized presentations on various topics vital to contemporary officiating, such as the rules and regulations of IKKF, Kho Kho terminology, officiating signals, and the officiating process.
Additionally, the course covers the roles and responsibilities of the Referee Board during competitions, the proper filling of scoresheets, and personality development for Technical Officials, according to the release.
Designed to enhance both technical accuracy and overall development, this course ensures that officials are equipped with the necessary skills, confidence, and global outlook to manage high-pressure competitions effectively.
Commenting on the initiative, Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the Kho Kho Federation of India, stated, "We are adopting best practices in Kho Kho to elevate the overall quality of the sport. This refresher course aims to furnish technical officials with the most current knowledge and updated skill sets, ensuring they align with modern advancements and professional standards."
This course for technical officials follows the successful completion of the Advanced Level III-A Training course for coaches, conducted from June 2 to June 11, which saw participation from nearly 20 international coaches and over 100 Indian coaches.
In recent years, Kho Kho has evolved from a traditional Indian game into a vibrant, professionally organized sport. Through initiatives like this, KKFI reinforces its commitment to establishing India as the global hub for Kho Kho while fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing.
