New Delhi, May 26 (NationPress) Following his remarkable unbeaten 39-ball 105 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday evening, Heinrich Klaasen shared his joy as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) clinched a commanding 110-run victory, wrapping up their IPL 2025 campaign on a high note. Klaasen expressed his satisfaction in finishing the season with a win after facing challenges throughout the tournament.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Klaasen made his elevation to the number three spot count by scoring the joint-third-fastest century in IPL history, achieved in just 37 balls. SRH posted an impressive total of 278/3, marking it as the third-highest score ever recorded in the tournament. His unbeaten innings included nine sixes and seven fours, with a staggering strike rate of 269.23.
“It’s been a lengthy season. I haven’t had many good starts, but I was connecting well today and got off to a solid beginning. I missed out in the previous match on a perfect wicket, so I’m thrilled to have made an impact here,” stated Klaasen.
“I don’t think I played as well as I could have. I missed some deliveries, which is a bit disappointing. That could have elevated my performance further. It was quite a mental struggle for me. Overall, I’m just very pleased,” he added in a video shared on iplt20.com.
Klaasen was particularly aggressive in targeting the straight boundaries, cover, and mid-wicket areas. This century ensured he concluded IPL 2025 with a total of 487 runs at a strike rate of 172.69.
“Our goal is to play aggressively. The matches we won showcased our execution, which has been beneficial. Typically, adaptability is key, something we struggled with earlier in the season. We’ve identified the brand of cricket we want to pursue and have refined it,” he explained.
“The last three and a half matches have been remarkable. We’ve achieved significant victories, and I believe we’re nearing the style of play we desire. We were just one win short of reaching the playoffs, leading to many valuable lessons,” he continued.
Klaasen also praised head coach Daniel Vettori and captain Pat Cummins for their leadership, despite the team finishing in sixth place on the points table this season. “Dan and Pat manage the team excellently, and it’s a pleasure to have them at the helm. They are outstanding leaders.”
“Sometimes, if Dan second-guesses a decision or has a gut feeling, and I echo that sentiment, that’s what counts. They’ve been phenomenal this season,” he remarked.
In closing, Klaasen expressed his appreciation for the franchise’s supporters for their unwavering backing, both at home and away. “The fans have been incredible. The Orange Army showed tremendous support during away games, with numerous Orange shirts spotted in the stands, particularly in Mumbai and Chennai. That indicates we’re on the right path, and it means a lot to us.”
