New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are set to join the Delhi squad for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, as the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has unveiled the list of potential players for this prestigious domestic one-day tournament.

The confirmation of Kohli's availability earlier this month, alongside Pant, is anticipated to significantly enhance the depth and experience of Delhi’s batting lineup. This is particularly crucial following the BCCI's new mandate that contracted Indian players must participate in domestic tournaments when they are not engaged in international duties.

Delhi will kick off its campaign with two matches in the Elite Group D against Andhra and Gujarat at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which is also Kohli's home ground for his IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Additionally, the team will contest five more matches at the Alur Cricket Ground, located on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Kohli, coming off being the Player of the Series in the recent ODI series against South Africa, will look to continue his form. Meanwhile, Pant, eager for playing time after being sidelined in the recent 50-over matches against the Proteas, will be available until India's ODI series against New Zealand scheduled from January 11-17, 2026.

The probables' list was finalized during a meeting of the senior men’s selection committee, which included selectors Yashpal Singh, K. Bhaskar Pillai, Manu Nayar, head coach Sarandeep Singh, CAC Chairman Vijay Dahiya, and Secretary Ashok Sharma. This list also features players selected for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where the Nitish Rana-led Delhi team missed out on the knockout stage, finishing third in Group D with 16 points.

A secondary list of 50 probable players has been released, including the likes of Dev Lakra, Divij Mehra, Yugal Saini, Sujal Singh, and others.
