Mumbai, December 7 (NationPress) India's left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has shared a message on social media, emphasizing the team's hard-fought battle to secure the ODI series against South Africa with a score of 2-1. This victory came after a commanding performance in the third and final match, where India triumphed by nine wickets at the ACA-VDCa Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

Kuldeep delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking 4 wickets for 41 runs while Prasidh Krishna contributed with 4 wickets for 65 runs, limiting South Africa to 270 runs. This was despite a remarkable century from Quinton de Kock, who scored a rapid 106 runs off 89 balls, alongside a solid 48 runs off 67 balls from skipper Temba Bavuma.

"Fought hard for this one," Kuldeep Yadav remarked in an Instagram story.

Earlier, he expressed his enjoyment of bowling with a dry ball after KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first, avoiding the dew that impacted their performance in the first two matches of the series.

"We had a solid start, with Arshdeep and Harshit maintaining tight lines for the first several overs. Once the spinners came on, the ball was gripping well. Bowling with a dry ball is a luxury after the previous two games. After losing 20 consecutive tosses, it was very satisfying to finally win one," Yadav stated, reflecting on India's success in dismissing South Africa.

Yadav also had a lively exchange with skipper K.L. Rahul and Rohit Sharma as he urged them to use the DRS in the final overs of his spell.

"I'm not very good with DRS, and Rohit often jokes about it. When I'm bowling, every delivery I hit the pad makes me feel like it's a potential wicket. Having experienced players like Rahul and Rohit to support me during DRS calls is invaluable," Kuldeep added.

He acknowledged the importance of senior players guiding him, stating, "You need veterans like them. The wicket was good for batting. Due to the 34-over ball-change rule, a dry ball caused it to grip on the pitch, making scoring challenging with turn. I experimented with different variations—legspin, googly, flipper," said Kuldeep Yadav.

Point of View
