Having stepped away from international cricket in 2023, Lanning remains active in domestic leagues and will take on the role of development coach for this series, which will also see participation from England and Sri Lanka. The matches are scheduled to occur in Brisbane and Gold Coast from March 30 to April 18.

Lanning will collaborate with head coach Kristen Beams alongside assistant coaches Lisa Keightley and Clive Rose. This will be Lanning's second coaching experience, following her role in last year's Lanning v Perry series.

CA has also announced a squad of 14 players for the tournament, featuring several athletes who have previously debuted in senior domestic competitions. These players are eligible for selection for the upcoming ICC Under 19 Women’s World Cup slated for 2027 in Bangladesh and Nepal.

“The Youth Selection Panel has put together a robust and well-rounded squad as we prepare for the Tri-Series against Sri Lanka and England. Each of the fourteen players has displayed exceptional cricketing skills this summer, and it was crucial to select those eligible for next year’s Under 19 World Cup,” stated Kristen.

Australia aims to capture the Under 19 T20 World Cup title in 2027, following semi-final appearances in the first two tournaments. “We are eager to witness the emerging talent representing Australia at the Under 19 level in the upcoming Tri-Series,” added Kristen.

Sonya Thompson, Head of National Development at Cricket Australia, emphasized the organization’s commitment to enhancing their pathways system and providing growth opportunities for players: “We look forward to seeing this squad take full advantage of their chance against Sri Lanka and England.
