London, Jan 26 (NationPress) Tottenham Hotspur faced their fourth consecutive Premier League loss at the hands of Leicester City during a match at the Tottenham Stadium on Sunday, intensifying the scrutiny on Ange Postecoglou. Spurs last tasted victory in the league on December 16 against Southampton, and since then, they have managed just one point—a 2-2 draw with Wolves—over seven league matches. This poor performance has left them languishing in 15th place on the table.

In a lively opening phase, Richarlison scored Spurs' first goal of the match with a header from a cross by Pedro Porro during his first Premier League start of the season. He skillfully got behind Wout Faes and found the net in the 33rd minute.

Despite heading into halftime with the lead, Spurs' advantage was short-lived in the second half. Just a minute in, Vardy equalized by bundling the ball over the line after a pass from Bilal El Khannouss slipped past Antonin Kinsky.

Four minutes later, El Khannouss struck again, curling a shot from 20 yards into the bottom corner, completing a remarkable turnaround.

This victory marked Leicester's second win under Ruud van Nistelrooy, allowing them to escape the relegation zone and sit in 17th place, now six points behind Spurs. Vardy, who netted his 10th goal against Spurs, expressed his joy over the team's performance and their resilience on a challenging night.

“It’s big. It stops the rot we’ve been in. The lads have battled through for the full 90 minutes; it’s a credit to ourselves and the manager for the work done on the training pitch. We executed that on the pitch.

“We analyzed their play throughout the week and identified spaces and chances to move the ball forward quickly. We needed to take advantage of those. While we aim to play beautiful football, there are times when that’s simply not possible. We stayed united and achieved a significant win,” Vardy stated in the post-match interview.
