PL: Leicester City Stages Incredible Comeback to Draw 2-2 with Brighton

Leicester, Dec 8 (NationPress) Brighton & Hove Albion appeared poised to clinch all three points from their Premier League encounter against Leicester City at King Power Stadium, yet a thrilling late resurgence from the Foxes led to a 2-2 stalemate.
Having been ahead 2-0 with merely five minutes remaining, the visitors are likely to feel aggrieved about dropping two points after having been in command for a considerable portion of the match.
Brighton's control was apparent from the outset. They exerted high pressure and controlled the rhythm, leaving Leicester struggling to make an impact early on. The first goal materialized in the 37th minute, when Tariq Lamptey, finding ample space on the right, cut inside and executed a magnificent left-footed shot past Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. Despite earlier missed opportunities, including attempts from Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma, Brighton justifiably led at halftime.
The second half continued in a similar vein, with Brighton persistently crafting chances. Substitute Yankuba Minteh extended their lead in the 79th minute, finishing coolly into the bottom corner after a clever pass from Mats Wieffer. With a 2-0 advantage and the match clock winding down, Brighton appeared to be en route to a comfortable victory.
Nevertheless, Leicester had different plans. The Foxes narrowed the gap in the 85th minute when Jamie Vardy capitalized on a deflected pass to score from close range. Suddenly, the match was invigorated. In the dying moments of stoppage time, a defensive blunder enabled Leicester to snatch a dramatic equalizer. A misplaced pass from Brighton’s Igor was intercepted by Stephy Mavididi, who quickly fed Vardy. The Leicester captain then squared it to Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who tapped in from close range to level the score at 2-2.
