New Delhi, April 21 (NationPress) Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, who famously guided the team to an unparalleled Premier League victory in the 2015-16 season, has written a heartfelt letter to the Foxes supporters following their relegation on Sunday.

A critical strike from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 76th minute was the decisive moment, resulting in a 0-1 defeat that sealed the team's fate.

The clubs finishing in the last three positions of the Premier League standings - 18th, 19th, and 20th - are relegated to the Championship, the second division of English football.

“At this moment, I can hardly find the words to express my feelings of anger and sadness regarding how this season has unfolded. There are absolutely no excuses.

“As a collective, both players and the club have fallen short.

“There’s no evading the truth, and I will not consider any notion of doing so.

“Having been part of this club for such a long time, we’ve enjoyed many highs and successes - yet this season has been nothing short of a disaster, and personally, a complete embarrassment. It’s painful, and I understand you're feeling the same way.

“To our fans: I sincerely apologize. I apologize for our lack of performance, and for concluding the 2025 season in such a disappointing manner,” Vardy expressed on X.

This season has been incredibly disheartening for the Foxes, who began with Steve Cooper at the helm, before Ruud van Nistelrooy took over in December. With only two victories in 12 league matches, a managerial change was made before Christmas, yet there have been just two additional wins in the 20 matches since.

After this latest setback, marking their 23rd defeat of the season, Leicester currently sits 18 points below safety, with only 15 points left to contest - their total points after 33 matches is also 18. While there were some positive moments in the match against Liverpool, the Reds had to earn their three points, but this loss marks the ninth match in a row that Leicester has failed to score at King Power Stadium - a clear sign of their struggles in the Premier League.
